On prevailing side: this member voted with the winning side in 22 of 456 decisive votes (4 abstentions excluded). Read it as a government-or-opposition indicator rather than a measure of influence — the figure is near 100% for members supporting the government of the day and near 0% for those opposing it.

Party over time

This is the point of the site: contributions keep the party held on the day, not the one held now.

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Tá tuismitheoirí trína chéile mar gheall ar an gcur chuige atá beartaithe don fhiosrú ar Shláinte Leanaí Éireann. Ní mór don Rialtas gníomhú chun dul i ngleic lena gcuid imní agus chun a chinntiú go bhfaigheann an fiosrúchán na freagraí atá de dhíth. For years, we have heard the harrowing stories of children with scoliosis and spina bifida; children who were failed catastrophically by Children's Health Ireland, CHI, and by the health system prior to the establishment of that organisation, left waiting for operation…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

I too send our best wishes and solidarity to Treasa and all of Seamus's family on his sad loss. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis. I spoke to Harvey Morrison Sherratt's mother, Gillian, this morning. This is what she said as regards what is proposed: "It's so far removed from what we were promised and expected that we feel like we're back at day one." That is really worrying and it reflects the reaction of many parents. We need to get to grips with this. I am not questioning the essential model that is proposed. I …

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Cuirim fáilte roimh Every Child Matters. You are very welcome to the House. Tá pobal Bhóthar Garbhachaidh go hiomlán i gcoinne an mhórshiúil de chuid an Ord Oráistigh atá á bhrú síos a mbóthar. Tá sé de cheart acu maireachtáil faoi shíocháin. Caithfidh Rúnaí Stáit na Breataine, Chris Bryant, gníomhú láithreach chun stop a chur le haon mhórshiúl atá á bhrú ar an bpobal seo. Dignity, togetherness, resolve and strength: that is what the community of the Garvaghy Road has demonstrated over recent days. Mothers and fath…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Caithfimid go léir iarracht a dhéanamh chun stop a chur leis an máirseáil seo. Everyone in the Dáil knows that all of this is just wrong. All of us know that the 28 years of peace and progress have to be cherished and protected. All of us know the people of the Garvaghy Road have an absolute right to live free from sectarian intimidation, fear and thuggery and that that right must be defended. All of us know that the days of second-class citizenship are over and that we cannot and will not return to the past. We kn…

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

The Every Child Matters campaign, which started in Meath, has now expanded to nearly every county in Ireland. It is calling out Government failure, the constant battle for services and supports, and the long wait for assessments of need, vital therapies, behavioural and psychological supports, mental health services, school places and transport. Last night, the heartbreaking impact of all of this was in full view on Virgin Media, with SNAs working under intolerable pressure and children being taught in the most app…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Léiríonn an tuairisc a d'fhoilsigh Bonkers.ie inniu go mbeadh aon socair a chuirfear ar fáil sa bhuiséad slogtha suas ag arduithe praghsanna. Tá go leor daoine óga ag smaoineamh ar imeacht thar lear ar thóir saol agus todhchaí níos fearr. Is í an cheist mhór ná cad a dhéanfaidh an Rialtas sa bhuiséad chun an saol a dhéanamh níos inacmhainne? We are now less than two weeks to budget day. The main thing on people's minds is the runaway cost of living, and the big question is what the Government will do to get costs u…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

There are absolutely solutions to all this. There is a constructive way forward. There is absolutely hope, especially for our phenomenal young people and for working families everywhere. Last night, we brought forward just one of those solutions, which could have had an immediate effect for 700,000 households, a solution to remove carbon taxes and make home heating oil in some way affordable for those families that were struggling. We will never apologise for shouting out for working people right across this land a…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Tá brú ollmhór ar dhaoine mar gheall ar na harduithe móra i bpraghsanna ola tí, peitreal agus díosal. Tá Sinn Féin ag moladh réitithe le dul i ngleic leis seo agus praghsanna a laghdú. Caithfidh an Rialtas iad a chur i bhfeidhm láithreach. Workers, families and businesses are under enormous unsustainable pressure from soaring fuel prices. The price of home heating oil, petrol and diesel has skyrocketed. People simply cannot afford the Government paying lip service to this situation. They need the Government to do i…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Jesus, that is woeful spoofing. The Minister does not have to speculate on anything because we have been very clear for months on end that the Government has to give assistance to the 700,000 households that heat their homes with heating oil. The Government has done nothing except give this kind of guff and try to act to distract, but it will not distract people from the realities of their lives. Now, as we meet and as we speak, they are being ripped off for home heating oil and fuel prices are soaring again, just …

An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business

I want to raise again the urgent situation on the Garvaghy Road in Portadown. As the Minister will be aware, the Parades Commission is about to consider an Orange Order application to march down the Garvaghy Road this Sunday. For 28 years, this community has lived with relative peace. The dispute, which was long-running and carried a high human cost, was resolved. It is just incredible that anybody would seek to reopen that matter and bring the anxiety, stress and instability that all of that would mean. This is a …

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

RTÉ has reported very serious allegations and tonight four Garda whistleblowers will speak publicly on them for the very first time. They will detail how the process for reporting and investigating wrongdoing within the Garda has been repeatedly undermined by senior management, including former Garda Commissioner, Drew Harris. A process was established in the aftermath of scandals that rocked An Garda Síochána more than a decade ago, in particular the treatment of sergeant Maurice McCabe. At that time, we were prom…

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions

Although the programme has not yet aired, certainly the central kernel of the issue has been published by RTÉ. In fact, there is extensive material in the public domain on the core issues - not the detail perhaps but the core issues at play here - so I am surprised that the Taoiseach or somebody around him has not briefed him on that. Be that as it may, the nub of this is simply this. Tonight, the very person, Dr. Donal Corcoran, who was in charge of running the protected disclosures office will tell a story of how…
