I wish to highlight the infrastructure in Carrick, County Donegal, which is holding back the future development of a rural Gaeltacht community. I will raise an issue about small craft registration in Ireland. The Marine Survey Office is responsible for registering all vessels, from large cargo ships to small pleasure boats. Registration is essential for every ship travelling to ports in and out of the EU and other countries. However, the current system is simply not working for small-craft owners.
