Road Projects Seanad Éireann — 2026-10-01 ============================================================ Cathal Byrne (FG), Cultural and Educational Panel I thank the Minister of State for coming to the Chamber this morning to take this very important Commencement matter. This is a pretty straightforward topic. The programme for Government commits to funding a matching road maintenance catch-up programme for local authorities with poor pavement surface conditions. Of the approximately 3,000 km of local roads that Wexford has at the moment, there are many roads that are in need of significant repairs. I ask the Minister of State for an update on the Government's catch-up roads maintenance fund. I am very much aware of the €23.3 million that was allocated to Wexford County Council to fix local and regional roads, as well as the €13.49 million that was allocated to us following Storm Chandra and the devastating damage it caused at the beginning of this year. This question specifically relates to the catch-up funding to bridge the gap and address the enormous issues that we have had across County Wexford with our local and regional road network. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
