Ceisteanna ar Pholasaí nó ar Reachtaíocht - Questions on Policy or Legislation Dail Éireann — 2026-10-01 ============================================================ Paul Lawless (AON), Mayo Yesterday, I met with a group of women who have benefited from the three-day wait. These women attended their first abortion appointment but subsequently changed their minds and, as a result, had their babies. Indeed, their babies were with them in the room yesterday. The legislation to abolish the three-day wait is currently before the Committee on Health but that committee is strategically blocking the voices of these women. These women are the one section of society to have had their voices ignored by the HSE, by the O'Shea report and now by the Committee on Health. These women have benefited and have children today as a result. Does the Tánaiste agree that the really important voices of these women should be heard before the committee concludes its deliberations? Will he meet these women? It is a wonderful and powerful story. I want to ensure their voices are heard as we discuss this really important legislation. --- Source: Houses of the Oireachtas.
